Emergency Surgery Saved My Life!

Hi! My name is Charlie, and I am a curious 4 month old Labrador mix puppy.

Unfortunately my curiosity got me into a bit of a situation when I decided to chew and ingest a sock. I didn’t realize how dangerous this was but I soon became very sick. My owners brought me in to see a veterinarian when I became extremely lethargic and couldn’t stop vomiting.

When the scans came back revealing I had a foreign object in my body and the cost of care was going to be astronomical, my owners had to make the sad decision to surrender me to the Ontario SPCA.

Everything happened pretty quickly after that as I was brought in for emergency surgery which saved my life. The veterinarian removed the sock from my lower intestine and the next hours were pretty touch and go.

Thanks to the wonderful care I have been receiving, I am now slowly recovering. I have to wear a drain tube and still need assistance to eat, but I am confident that thanks to my friends at the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre, I will make a full recovery and soon be able to find a new forever home.

I am so grateful for my second chance! I still have several follow up visits ahead of me for treatments and the cost for all this care continues to mount to over $3000.

As a thank you to my friends, I am asking the community to please consider donating to my page so I can raise money to help other animals just like me have a second chance at life.
