Saving Animals One Step at a Time
On September 20th, many enthusiastic walkers came out to Sunnidale Park in support of the animals in the Barrie area. A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the Friends for Life! Walk™ such a success! The event couldn't have been successful without the generosity of our community sponsors, the commitment of our volunteers, and everyone who donated, fundraised or participated in the walk.
We hope you will join us next September. Stay tuned for details.

Unusual Bird Month
Last month was certainly a surprising time for us at the Ontario SPCA Barrie Animal Centre! We received two feathered strays that needed care, including a rooster and a dove. Roosters are illegal inside the city limits of Barrie, but thanks to fans on our Facebook page, we were able to find him a great home at a rural hobby farm.
Doves are not a type of bird we see often, however the PetSmart team really worked their magic and the dove was adopted within a day!
