Help Support Sophie's Recovery!
Sophie is a sweet Husky mix stray who came into the Ontario SPCA Midland & District Animal Centre in really rough shape. She walked in pain from her long and unkempt nails which circled back and dug into her paws. Her coat was so severely matted, that even when she wanted to wag her tail, she couldn’t - it was knotted so badly it intertwined along her leg.
Sophie also had a severe injury to her nose. A four-inch pipe was discovered embedded on the upper part of her nose. It was badly infected and she had to undergo immediate surgery to have the object removed.
Despite so much suffering, Sophie still has the warmest heart. She is finally on the road to recovery through regular grooming, medication and daily care, and soon will be able to enjoy a second chance in a forever home.
Sophie’s surgery and care is quite costly and we need your help. Please donate today so Sophie and other animals just like her receive the care they need.

The event couldn't have been successful without the generosity of our community sponsors, the commitment of our volunteers, and everyone who donated, fundraised or participated in the walk.
We hope you will join us next September. Stay tuned for details.
