From Left Behind to Loving Home
“Riley”, a one-year-old Beagle/Australian Shepherd mix, was surrendered to the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre because his owners were moving and could no longer keep him. He quietly sat in his kennel for two weeks, with staff eager for someone to arrive and fall in love with his plucky personality. He was fun, energetic and had a lot of love to give!
When visitor Anna and her husband met Riley, they fell in love with him. We are pleased to say he has adjusted well to city life, and thoroughly enjoys summertime at the cottage with lots of room to run and swim.

Saying Goodbye to Old Friends
We are sad to say
goodbye to one of our wonderful seasonal volunteers, Albert. He and his wife Laura have
volunteered as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus for the past several years, and
enjoyed helping out during the holiday season and getting photos with the
animals during our annual “Pet Pictures with Santa”.
They recently stopped by the Ontario
SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre to let us know he was retiring, however he
generously donated his full Santa outfit for our new Santa to use (and adopted
the adorable “Lyon”). We wish him all the best in his retirement.
