A Long Journey Home
Last month, we told you about Patty, a sweet 7-year-old chocolate Lab that was
surrendered to the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre due to
her declining health. She spent months
in our care, receiving extensive treatments and bi-weekly vet visits to address
her hair loss and skin disorders.
We are happy to report that after weeks of searching for the
perfect family, Patty has found her forever home. It was a bittersweet day for staff as they bid
her farewell. Stay tuned for more updates as she settles in.
Patty would not have received this second chance if it
weren’t for the generous support of people like you! Cost of her care and rehabilitation has
exceeded $12,000 and you helped recover more than half that cost. But we still need help.

Third Time is a Charm
Tumbleweed is an adorable 5-year-old Australian Cattledog
mix dog that was surrendered to the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal
Centre back in December of 2014. Being so
close to Christmas, staff were heartbroken to see such a friendly and loving
dog without a family for the holidays.
It took almost two months to find a new family for
Tumbleweed, and unfortunately after being in his new home for eight months, he
was back at the shelter. His owners were
going through a big lifestyle change and needed to surrender him once
again.
Thankfully, a wonderful family came in recently
and when they heard his story, they just knew they were going to be the forever
family he had been searching for. Tumbleweed loves his new home and big back
yard. He found his perfect match.
