A Happy Ending for “Roscoe”
When “Roscoe” arrived at the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Animal Centre he was a bit scared. But after a little warming up, this friendly two-year-old Dachshund found his forever family! Here's an update on how he is doing today:
"It's been a short time, but Roscoe has come so far and we adore him. He now gets so excited when one of us comes home. He lets out his squeaky little puppy bark (we were wondering if he had vocal cords until a few days ago)! He also bounces on all four little legs and gives kisses before you're in the door.
Roscoe was unsure of eating with my other two dogs but now the three of them run to their bowls. He loves my homemade dog treats, and we are working on the sit and shake commands. Roscoe is the most loveable little guy who enjoys showing affection by giving kisses, curling up in your lap, or patting your hand so you rub his bald belly. He's also gained his own spot in my bed with fellow Dachshund Mocha Bean and his new love.
Thank you to all of you at the Orangeville SPCA. Without you these little guys wouldn't have a chance." ~ Julie and Family

Staying Warm and Safe in the Cold Months Ahead
It’s inevitable. We live in Canada which means cold winter months are in the forecast. Whether you are planning to hibernate or excited to pull out the toque and gloves and bring your pet out for some cold weather fun, safety should always come first.
Enjoy a nice winter season with some cold weather safety tips.

The Volunteer Who Does it All
Joanne has been a great volunteer with the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Animal Centre since August 2013. She volunteers at our Paws & Claws Thrift Store, handling the front desk and customer service, and often fills in for other volunteers who are unable to cover their shifts.
For the past two years, Joanne has also lent her time to our Animal Control team and completes regular follow-up calls to local residents about dog license renewals.
Joanne also helps with a long list of other needs in our events and fundraising department including silent auctions, our annual walk registration, pet photos with Santa, running errands, and SO much more! She is always keen to lend a hand where she can.
Thank you for all you do Joanne!

Shelburne Paws & Claws Thrift Store is on the Move!
After many wonderful years in our old location, the building that housed the Shelburne Paws & Claws Thrift Store was sold and it was time to find our next home!
We are VERY excited to re-open in our new location on December 1st in the Giant Tiger plaza. The new space is big, bright and will receive a little bit of a "face-lift" so customers can have an even better shopping experience!
To run our stores we rely on the generosity of the public to make donations of new or gently used household items. In addition, we are staffed by almost an entirely volunteer run team - WOW!
Stay tuned for more store updates and don't forget to stop by the Shelburne store this December. Every purchase helps an animal in need find their forever home!
