“Beau” is a big dog with a big heart!
“Beau”, a handsome Bulldog was found abandoned and tied to the railroad tracks in Chatham. A good Samaritan found him and brought him to the Ontario SPCA Kent County Animal Centre. He was understandably scared and anxious when he first arrived, but thanks to our wonderful animal care attendants and caring volunteers, he soon got used to his new surroundings.
Santa brought Beau the perfect gift - a new best friend. Rick stopped by the Animal Centre just after Christmas and fell in love. The two are starting their new life together at the Canadian Forces Base in Borden. Beau is going to have a fantastic time in his new home. The base has an off-leash park and dog sitters to keep him company when his owner is away. We are thrilled for Rick and Beau, and wish them years of happiness and adventures together.

iAdopt for the Holidays a Huge Success
From November 1 – December 31, Ontario SPCA Animal Centres in partnership with 50 other participating SPCAs and Humane Societies across Canada, ran the iAdopt for the Holidays adoption campaign with the goal of getting as many animals as possible adopted into loving, forever homes.
Over 5,000 animals, close to 1,500 of those from Ontario SPCA Animal Centres, found homes thanks to people like you either adopting or helping to spread the word.
The winner of our grand prize online contest, winning free pet food for a year courtesy of Royal Canin, was ‘Maggie’ the cat (pictured above) and her owners from Amherstburg, ON. Congratulations!
A big thank you to all who participated in this year’s campaign both online and through adopting an animal. You helped change lives this holiday season!

Thank you for a wonderful year!
As we move forward into 2016, we would like to take the time to reflect on the past year. First, we would like to extend a huge thank you to our community! Because of you, in 2015, over 1000 cats and dogs from the Kent County Animal Centre found loving homes!
We would like to also extend our sincerest gratitude to a fantastic team who has dedicated time and effort into a successful transfer program. Last year, 372 cats and dogs have been transferred to other SPCA Animal Centres, affiliates and animal rescues across the province where they were put up for adoption and found loving homes. We are excited to see what wonderful adventures 2016 has in store.
