Providing Spay/Neuter Services to Whitefish Bay First Nation

The Whitefish Bay community is committed to reducing pet overpopulation. They recently invited the Ontario SPCA, Beat the Heat Kenora, the Grey Bruce Aboriginal Qimmiq Team, the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society and local volunteers, on to the First Nation community to provide spay/neuter services.

The Ontario SPCA is pleased to report that 79 surgeries were performed!  In addition, the team was able to provide microchipping and vaccines to some of the local pets.

Anthony is our Local Hero

This year to celebrate his birthday, Anthony collected donations to support his two favourite animal welfare organizations in our community. Anthony raised $550 from his friends, siblings and family members. The donations were divided by the Ontario SPCA Sudbury & District Animal Centre and Wild at Heart Refuge Centre.  An amount of $275.00 in total was donated to help the animals in our care.

A BIG birthday thank you to Anthony!

Wonderful Senior Dogs Need Homes

We have two charming elderly gentlemen seeking special people to enjoy their golden years with! “Truskowski” is an 11-year-old Labrador Retriever mix and “Patches” is an 8-year-old Border Collie mix. Both dogs have been treated for prior medical issues, and thanks to the help of Sit with Me Rescue and Freedom Riders, they have been a second chance. They are enjoying spending time with their foster families, however they are both looking for forever homes.

Please contact us here at the Ontario SPCA Sudbury and District Animal Centre if you would like to meet them!
