Providing Spay/Neuter Services to Whitefish Bay First Nation

The Whitefish Bay community is committed to reducing pet overpopulation. They recently invited the Ontario SPCA, Beat the Heat Kenora, the Grey Bruce Aboriginal Qimmiq Team, the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society and local volunteers, on to the First Nation community to provide spay/neuter services.

The Ontario SPCA is pleased to report that 79 surgeries were performed!  In addition, the team was able to provide microchipping and vaccines to some of the local pets.

Goofy “Bubba” Meets the Perfect Family

This 7-year-old German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix we named “Bubba” was a high-energy and wonderful pet that came to the Ontario SPCA Chatham-Kent Animal Centre in January. We knew he needed an enthusiastic and fun-loving family to keep up with him.

Before we knew it, he was adopted by a playful family who was looking for a pet to love and welcome into their home. We are so grateful that Bubba has many happy years to look forward to with his new family!
