The Truth About Ticks
Tick season has arrived and we ask Dave Wilson, Director of Shelter Health & Wellness for the Ontario SPCA and retired vet, what we need to know to help keep our pets safe.
Ticks are members of the spider family, and their bites can cause serious illness such as Tick Paralysis or even Lyme disease. It’s important to learn tick prevention and treatment.
Read our two part series “PET HEALTH CORNER: The Truth about Ticks” and watch our You Tube Video “How to Remove a Tick” for more information.

“Patrick” is a 1.5-year-old brown and white tabby cat that needs a new home. He was brought to the Ontario SPCA Muskoka Animal Centre in early April when a family member developed severe allergies to him. He is happy, healthy and looking for a warm lap of his very own.
Patrick is a loving, affectionate cat who loves people, as well as other cats and dogs. If you are looking for a fun, friendly feline then Patrick is the cat for you! For more information, give us a call at (705) 645-6225 or stop by our Animal Centre for a visit.

Wiggling Puppies with Wagging Tails
These little cuties came to the Ontario SPCA Muskoka Animal Centre a few weeks ago with their mom and six siblings from Kirkland Lake, Ontario. These little Labrador/Shepherd crosses needed a bit more time and TLC before they were ready to be adopted out to new families.
Once they were old enough, they were spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Thanks to everyone who adopted one of these wonderful pups, and we hope to see them out at our Friends for Life! Walk™ in September! |

need your help to share this important message.
Join us on May
24th by visiting nohotpets.ca for the official launch of our 2016 No Hot Pets
