Meet “Costanza”
At only three months old, this sweet Rottweiler puppy had a rough start in life. “Costanza” came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre through the investigations department.
Costanza had a broken leg and fractures in both his tibia and fibula. He immediately received veterinary care, and it appeared as though emergency surgery meant removing the leg. Thankfully his leg was saved, but the cost of his surgery and care in the hospital currently exceeds $2,000 and will continue to increase.
Please consider donating to help Costanza and other animals like him!

The Truth About Ticks
Tick season has arrived and we ask Dave Wilson, Director of Shelter Health & Wellness for the Ontario SPCA and retired vet, what we need to know to help keep our pets safe.
Ticks are members of the spider family, and their bites can cause serious illness such as Tick Paralysis or even Lyme disease. It’s important to learn tick prevention and treatment.
Read our two part series “PET HEALTH CORNER: The Truth about Ticks” and watch our You Tube Video “How to Remove a Tick” for more information.
