The summer weather is upon us and our emergency dispatch team has been receiving calls every day about animals being left unattended in hot cars.
There is no excuse for leaving a pet unattended in a vehicle and this summer we need your help to share this important message and save lives.

High Number of Rabies Cases Reported
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry reported earlier this June, 76 cases of confirmed raccoon strain and fox strains in parts of southwestern Ontario. Along with having your pet vaccinated by your veterinarian, there are ways to keep your family and pets safe.

Donations Needed for Kitten Season
It’s kitten season...the time of year where we see and increase in cat litters come into the care of the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Animal Centre. This kitten season, we are looking for donations to help get us through the next couple of months as we get them ready for adoption.
Donations of non-clumping cat litter, laundry detergent and dish soap would be greatly appreciated. The next time you are shopping for some of these items, please consider picking up up a litte extra and dropping it off at our centre located at 156 Richmond Road. |
Update on “Willow”
Do you remember our sweet “Willow”? She was the one-eyed lab mix that came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Centre. Willow needed a lot of care but it didn’t take long for her to find her forever home.
We are thrilled for Willow pictured above loving life. Her family recently sent us this update:

Nail Clipping Service Available
Let us take the uncertainty out of clipping your pets’ nails! The Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Animal Centre is pleased to offer pet nail clipping for only $10. Bring in your pet, and have their nails clipped by one of the professional staff members here at the centre. Every 10th nail clipping is free!
