No Hot Pets Video Capture

Join Us! No Excuses. No Hot Pets.

The summer weather is upon us and our emergency dispatch team has been receiving calls every day about animals being left unattended in hot cars.

There is no excuse for leaving a pet unattended in a vehicle and this summer we need your help to share this important message and save lives.

Be a No Hot Pets ambassador this summer. Join thousands of Canadians who have already taken the No Hot Pets pledge online and receive your free car decal.

Be sure to spread the message on social media about the dangers of leaving your pet in your vehicle using the hashtag #nohotpets.

Visit Nohotpets.ca to learn more and take the pledge.

Join our Furry Friends at the Friends for Life! Walk™

Tails are wagging in support of the Friends for Life! Walk™ presented by Pedigree®.  Join us on Sunday, September 25th at Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre on Centennial Road and raise funds for animals that may have been abused, abandoned, or neglected and give them a second chance to find their forever home!

This year, we will be honoring a special friend, Joan Ferguson, who sadly passed away recently. Joan’s love for the animals will live on  through our walk team as we raise pledges in her memory.

Diesel  Thank You
 A New Journey for “Diesel”

“Diesel” came to the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre when his owner had to make the painful decision to surrender him due to circumstances that required moving across the country. Diesel is a senior aged Mastiff/Boxer mix with some minor health concerns but his owner did not have the proper resources to properly care for Diesel during this life transition.

Diesel is now looking for a new home where he can live out his golden years. If you are interested in meeting Diesel, please contact us at 613-345-5520.
Michelle Makes it Happen

Volunteers are at the heart of our centre and we wanted to send a special shout out to our very own staff member Michelle who makes volunteering possible.

Michelle has taken on the task of coordinating our wonderful team of volunteers, from the initial application, orientation, training and scheduling to best allocate their time and skills for the care of the animals. Thank you Michelle for your continued dedication to the animals and the volunteer team.

Venus
Rocky and Friends

“Venus” Finds Love

“Venus” is a goddess in our eyes and her story is a heartfelt one. Her owner suddenly passed away, and while family stepped up to help with her care, she needed to be rehomed with a loving family who could give her the love and attention she deserved.

Venus is  a beautiful but large Rottweiler and needed space to explore. It didn’t take long for a family to fall in love with this girl. Venus has now been adopted and fitting perfectly in her new family and her new friends, the free roaming chickens.
