Hunter
Hunter needs your help!

It’s been a difficult journey for Hunter and it’s not over yet for the two-year-old black German Shepherd. He came to the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Animal Centre with a serious skin infection that left him covered in open sores and without any fur.

Despite the pain and discomfort caused by the infection, Hunter is an extremely playful dog with a big personality. He’s currently undergoing treatment and should be ready to find his forever home in the next couple of months.

Dog Panting from Heatroke

Road Trip

Know the Signs of Heatstroke

An afternoon in the garden, or day on the trails, even the most responsible pet owners might be at risk of their pet having heatstroke. Increased heart rate, excessive panting or drooling and listlessness are some of the signs that your pet might be in danger.

Keep your pets safe by learning the signs and what to do if your pet suffers from heatstroke.

Road Tripping with Your Pets

Summer means road trips to the cottage, sunny days at the beach, and visiting friends and family! If you have a pet with you, you need to know how to be prepared for a road trip so you keep them safe at all times.

Find out some great tips and tricks for a great road trip with your pets by reading the Ontario SPCA’s blog ROAD TRIP! Taking pets for trips!

Volunteer with Us
Tundra

Volunteer this summer

The Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Animal Centre is in urgent need of volunteers for our bottle drive program and our thrift stores at the Shelburne and Orangeville locations.

We also have a wide variety of volunteer roles that we are always looking to fill. If you can commit to a weekly volunteer shift at the centre or one of our stores, contact Judi at 519-942-3140 ext 22 or jdavis@ospca.on.ca.

Update on Elijah

Do you remember our friend Elijah? Earlier this year we asked for your help because Elijah was battling an infection in his front paw. The incredible support you showed Elijah blew us away. You helped us raise the full $3,500 to cover his costs of care!

Due to Elijah’s complex medical needs, he was placed with a foster family who could provide the needed care for his paw during his two-month recovery.

Today, his name is Tundra, and he is being spoiled by the same foster family as they decided to adopt him! Check out our recent blog post with an update and pictures from the family.
