Keep your pets safe by learning the signs and what to do if your pet suffers from heatstroke.

Animal Transfer Program Set to Help 60 Cats Find New Homes

The Ontario SPCA, in partnership with Beat the Heat Kenora and the Welland & District SPCA, is excited to take part in another great transfer initiative that will see 60 cats getting a second chance at finding their forever home.

As part of the Ontario SPCA’s Animal Transfer Program, the cats, which are coming from the Kenora and Thunder Bay areas, will be transported to central Ontario where they will be examined and prepared to be adopted out into new homes by the Welland & District SPCA with support from the Ontario SPCA.

Cats need more than nine lives, they need a second chance and this is Mission Possible via collaboration and dedication to Animal Welfare!

Report to the Communities

2015 was another busy year for the Ontario SPCA as we continue to forge collaborative partnerships in Animal Welfare. Thanks to all our amazing partners and the generosity of our dedicated supporters and donors, we are able to continue providing life saving services for thousands of animals throughout the province.

Here’s a snapshot of the great work you have been part of:

  • 7,056 animals were adopted into forever homes
  • 4,241 Orders issues in response to a cruelty complaint
  • 1,974 animals removed as a result of an Investigation

This could not have been done without your help. Read the 2015 Report to Communities to learn more on how together we are making a difference in the lives of animals.
