Know the Signs of Heatstroke

An afternoon in the garden, or day on the trails, even the most responsible pet owners might be at risk of their pet having heatstroke. Increased heart rate, excessive panting or drooling and listlessness are some of the signs that your pet might be in danger.

Keep your pets safe by learning the signs and what to do if your pet suffers from heatstroke.

Gordie & Buttercup Need Your Help!

Gordie came to us scared and in pain. Upon examination, Gordie’s injuries were deemed so extensive that amputating his hind leg was the only option to alleviate the excruciating pain he was suffering. This handsome black cat is now on the road to recovery, but he still has a way to go.

Buttercup, a nine-month-old kitten, had a terrible limp when she was surrendered to the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre. Upon examination, it was discovered that poor Buttercup had an elastic caught around her leg, which cut right through her Achilles tendon, causing immense pain. She is now on the mend but will walk with a limp for the rest of her life.

With your help, Buttercup and Gordie have a second chance.

Let us Help You Meet Your Match

It’s always hard to see them go, but we love sending animals home with their new forever families! After seeing our puppies available for adoption on Facebook, Michelle's family quickly alerted her to these bundles of joy and she came in to meet them.

She was smitten with this little fella she named Rupert. Rupert has now been neutered and officially adopted into Michelle's family. We wish them the best of luck!
