Register Today to Walk for Animals in Need

The Friends For Life! Walk™ presented by Pedigree® will take place at the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre in Brockville on Sunday, September 25th!

The Friends for Life! Walk™ is a major fundraiser for the Ontario SPCA and its Affiliates. You don’t need to bring a dog to the walk to participate. In fact, you don’t even need to own a pet! The Friends for Life! Walk™ is a way for you to give back to your community by helping animals in need.

We can’t do this alone, which is why we need you to go the extra mile to help vulnerable animals.

No Hot Pets campaign gains momentum

Thanks to our local Canadian Tire Store in Brockville for letting the Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre, along with Brockville Fire Services and Brockville Police, host a few public awareness sessions for our No Hot Pets campaign. This was a successful event, showcasing our Animal Centre, our local Ontario SPCA agent and Brockville Emergency Services working together to get the message out to the community.

No Excuses. No Hot Pets.

Urgent Appeal August

Fixing the Pet Overpopulation Crisis Starts With You

Pet overpopulation is at a crisis level in Ontario and we need responsible pet owners like you to spay it forward. By spaying or neutering your pet, you’re doing your part to help reduce the number of homeless animals that end up in animal centres across the province.

Spaying and neutering is a straight-forward medical procedure with many health benefits, including the reduction in the risk of developing certain cancers and illnesses.

The Ontario SPCA’s high-volume spay/neuter clinics are open Monday to Friday, with one Saturday each month.

Adopt a cat during the “iAdopt Urgent Appeal” adoption blitz

Have you been considering adding a cat to your family? Now’s the best time! The Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre will be taking part in an “iAdopt Urgent Appeal” adoption blitz from Aug. 11-21 to help find homes for the recent influx of adult cats in our care.

During this urgent appeal adoption blitz, ALL ADULT CATS will be available for adoption for $50 each*.  All cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, come with a gift of six weeks of pet insurance and are up to date with their vaccines.

To view animals available for adoption, visit meetyourmatch.ontariospca.ca

*Special adoption fee applies to participating Ontario SPCA Animal Centres only.

Dog Eating

Make healthy pet treats at home

If you’re a pet owner who loves to cook or bake, making your own healthy pet treats can be fun and rewarding.

It’s a great way to spend some time with your four-legged friend, plus you’ll know exactly what’s in the treats they’re eating.

To help you get started, we have a few recipes we think your pets will love!

Senior dog gets new lease on life

Sometimes it takes a special matchmaker to find forever homes for our animals. One such person is volunteer Helen Shea. She has made a significant impact in many areas of our Animal Centre since joining our team two years ago.

Recently, Heather met Sterling, a wonderful nine-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever who came into our care. Given that Sterling had severe plaque on her teeth and some problems with her hips, the right home was essential for Sterling in her senior years.

Sterling was in need of a quiet life to retire to and that's exactly what she found with her new owner, Linda Caldwell. Thanks to Helen, who reached out to her network of friends in search of an adopter, Linda and Sterling found each other. We wish them all the best!
