New Shelter Health Pro website launched
The Ontario SPCA has launched a new online tool,
shelterhealthpro.com, to equip animal shelter staff, volunteers and veterinary
care providers with resources to make animals more comfortable in a humane and
healthy environment.
While designed specifically for animal shelter staff,
volunteers and veterinary care providers, the information available on the new
Shelter Health Pro website is applicable to anyone responsible for housing a
large group of animals. This includes breeders, kennel operators and event
organizers, such as those hosting dog shows and pet expos.
The goal of the website is to save lives with the most
current best practices for improving animal health and welfare through
effective management strategies, protocols and resources for infection and
disease prevention and control.

Local store’s support gets tails
wagging
A big thank you to Martin and
Marilyn Weber of Dog-On-it in Port Carling! They raised $645 for the animals at
the Ontario SPCA Muskoka Animal Centre through the sale of grab bags for
pooches and their people.
If you haven’t visited the store located at 124-A Medora Street in Port Carling,
make sure you stop by. You won’t be disappointed!

Can you give a horse a home?
Renegade
is an approximately 12-year-old Quarter horse-type grade mare who is now
looking for that special place to call home! She stands 14.2h and is a solid
bay.
Renegade
has lovely ground manners and is very social with people. She enjoys being
groomed and fussed over. She lunges, crossties and trailers well. She gets
along well in a mixed herd and is an easy keeper.
Renegade is a now working nicely under saddle and is a very willing and
sensible partner.
Renegade
is a super mare who should make an excellent pleasure/trail partner for an
intermediate or above rider.
