‘Tis the season to adopt
iAdopt for
the Holidays is now in full swing, which means we’re asking you to consider
giving a homeless animal a loving home.
Until Dec.
31, the Ontario SPCA, as well as SPCAs, Humane Societies and Animal Welfare groups
across Canada are encouraging people to choose pet adoption as their first
option when bringing home a new family member. Be
sure to visit your local participating society to take part in iAdopt for the Holidays and change an
animal’s life this holiday season.
PLUS during the campaign period, all cats
and kittens at Ontario SPCA animal centres are available for adoption for only $99 and
you’ll receive a free box of Arm & Hammer® clumping cat litter while
supplies last!
Already have an adopted pet? Enter the iAdopt
contest for a chance to WIN free pet food for a year from Royal Canin!
Visit iadopt.ca for contest details.

Canada’s first Provincial Dog Rehabilitation Centre will assist dogs that require extra care and attention
The campaign to build the Ontario SPCA Provincial Dog Rehabilitation Centre is now underway! This one-of-a-kind facility will fill a critical gap in current services by addressing the special needs of dogs most difficult to adopt.
The Provincial Dog Rehabilitation Centre will be built on Peterborough Humane Society’s lush new 20-acre property, giving dogs a fresh start with lots of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Designed from the ground up for dogs who require extra care and attention, the building will feature an abundance of natural light to promote healing and a layout that incorporates the latest research and best practices in animal centre management.
Take a few minutes to learn about this campaign in our
Animals’ Voice Pawdcast.

Meet Judy, the newest addition to the Rocky & Friends collection
This holiday season, we’re excited to introduce Judy as the newest plush in our Rocky & Friends collection. Like the other Friends, Judy is created in the image of a very real animal who got a second chance because of caring and kind people like you who support the Ontario SPCA.
At just three weeks old, Judy and her family were part of a very special journey. The Ontario SPCA was invited by a remote Northern community to assist in a stray dog transfer and rehoming operation.
At the Ontario SPCA, Judy and her six siblings were put in the loving care of a temporary foster home to be nurtured until they were old enough to be adopted. This black Shepherd-Labrador mix and her siblings were all adopted and are very happy in their new forever homes.
When you give this plush toy as a gift, you will be helping to rescue other dogs like Judy.

Forever friends found a forever
home
Ruby
and Rain have been adopted! These two cats are nine and eleven years of age and
are long-time companions. Their owner sadly could no longer care for them and
surrendered them to our centre in August.
These ladies are the best of friends
and we’re pleased to report that they have found a forever family – together!

Volunteer
team extraordinaire
Meet
Bev and Karen Hyatt of Bracebridge! This volunteer duo has been a big part of
our Muskoka team for just over three years now.
Both
Bev and Karen fulfill a variety of roles for our centre, including organizing
our Bottles for Bones program, assisting with special events and community
outreach and animal transport. If that wasn’t enough, Karen spends every
Tuesday assisting our team with less glamorous duties, such as laundry and
dishes. We are so fortunate to have Bev and Karen on our team. Not only do they
offer their support willingly and without question, they also provide a warm
welcome and support system to our new volunteers! Thank
you Karen and Bev. We couldn’t do it without you!
