iadopt for the Holidays Contest

‘Tis the Season to Adopt

iAdopt for the Holidays is now in full swing, which means we’re asking you to consider giving a homeless animal a loving home.

Until Dec. 31, the Ontario SPCA, as well as SPCAs, Humane Societies and animal welfare groups across Canada are encouraging people to choose pet adoption as their first option when bringing home a new family member. Be sure to visit your local participating society to take part in iAdopt for the Holidays and change an animal’s life this holiday season.

PLUS during the campaign period, when you adopt a cat or kitten at an Ontario SPCA Animal Centre, you’ll receive a free box of Arm & Hammer Slide™ Cat Litter while supplies last!

Already have an adopted pet? Enter the iAdopt contest for a chance to WIN free pet food for a year from Royal Canin! Visit iadopt.ca for contest details.

Cat Litter Best Practices

Litter box issues are one of the most common reasons cats find themselves back at Ontario SPCA Animal Centres. Arm & Hammer™, one of our partners for the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign, have some great advice on litter box best practices to help encourage a happy and healthy transition to the new home.

Creating an environment that falls in line with cat’s natural instincts is key. Read our blog post Litter box best practices – Arm & Hammer™ for great tips and set your feline friend up for success.

Penny and Silver
 Cherry Bomb Donation
A Silver Lining

Penny had been looking for a playmate for her youngest cat when she came across Silver on the Meet Your Match™ website.

It was love at first sight and she immediately came into the Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Animal Centre to meet him.

The feeling was mutual and Silver immediately took to Penny. We are happy to report that he is fitting in quite well with the rest of the family and the other cats have really taken to him.

Congrats Silver on finding your perfect match!
Local Gym Helps the Animals

Every year, the members of Cherry Bomb Garage Gym organize a fundraiser in support of the animals at the Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Animal Centre.

This year, we were overjoyed when they presented us with hundreds of pounds of supplies for our furry friends. From cleaning products and office supplies to pet toys and treats, they covered it all.

A special thank you to everyone at Cherry Bomb

Garage Gym for such a thoughtful donation. The animals will certainly love their new presents.

Posing for Paws Raises Much Needed Funds

We are thrilled with the success of our annual Posing for Paws Charity Fashion Show & Auction which took place on Oct. 20th.  It was a fun filled evening showcasing some of our local businesses all in support of the animals in our community.

This year, the event raised $17,000!!!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event through donations, ticket sales, and more. Shout out to the Welch Group for helping stuff the swag bags for all the attendees, and a very special thanks to Christina Russell and Angie Savard for organizing such a fabulous event.

Make a Will Month

November is Make a Will month, so we're talking about legacies, animals and Wills!

On this week's Animals' Voice Pawdcast, we interview Nancy Hull, lifelong supporter of animals and the Ontario SPCA. She shares with us why she thinks it's important for animal lovers to make a Will, and why she chose to include the Ontario SPCA in her Will.

Visit our website for sample terminology when creating your Will and learn more on how you can Leave a Legacy.
