iadopt for the Holidays Contest

‘Tis the Season to Adopt

iAdopt for the Holidays is now in full swing, which means we’re asking you to consider giving a homeless animal a loving home.

Until Dec. 31, the Ontario SPCA, as well as SPCAs, Humane Societies and animal welfare groups across Canada are encouraging people to choose pet adoption as their first option when bringing home a new family member. Be sure to visit your local participating society to take part in iAdopt for the Holidays and change an animal’s life this holiday season.

PLUS during the campaign period, when you adopt a cat or kitten at an Ontario SPCA Animal Centre, you’ll receive a free box of Arm & Hammer Slide™ Cat Litter while supplies last!

Already have an adopted pet? Enter the iAdopt contest for a chance to WIN free pet food for a year from Royal Canin! Visit iadopt.ca for contest details.

 Waffles
Waffles Needed Urgent Care

Waffles, a sweet six-month-old Bulldog was brought in to the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Animal Centre as a stray after being found wandering in the area. This little guy was scared, alone and in need of immediate care.

Waffles had a pretty significant case of “cherry eye” and needed surgery to eliminate his discomfort and reduce the risk of bacterial infections. Waffles is now recovering, but the costs of his surgery and care go above and beyond our normal cost of care.

Can you help us with a special gift today?

Your support helps create new beginnings for animals like Waffles who deserve a second chance at happiness.

Cat Litter Best Practices

Litter box issues are one of the most common reasons cats find themselves back at Ontario SPCA Animal Centres. Arm & Hammer™, one of our partners for the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign, have some great advice on litter box best practices to help encourage a happy and healthy transition to the new home.

Creating an environment that falls in line with cat’s natural instincts is key. Read our blog post Litter box best practices – Arm & Hammer™ for great tips and set your feline friend up for success.

Horses 101: Standards of Care

What kind of calls does the Ontario SPCA receive about care of horses? How can owners find up to date information on standards of care for horses?

In our latest podcast, our guest, Inspector Tracy Lapping discusses details on standards of care for horses and the type of calls our Ontario SPCA officers respond to. Listen in to hear all the important information you need to know!

Looking to adopt a horse? Check out some of our friends waiting for their forever homes or find out how you can help.

Meet Maddie!

Maddie is a beautiful 8-year-old pony bay mare looking for her forever home. She hasn’t been ridden much in the last few years and would benefit from an experienced rider. Maddie shows tremendous potential and could shine in any number of disciplines and jobs.

Maddie is up-to-date on vaccinations, dental, worming and farrier care. She is an easy keeper who prefers the outdoor lifestyle with proper shelter and gets along well in a herd.

Visit her adoption profile on the Ontario SPCA website for additional details.
