iadopt for the Holidays Contest

‘Tis the Season to Adopt

iAdopt for the Holidays is now in full swing, which means we’re asking you to consider giving a homeless animal a loving home.

Until Dec. 31, the Ontario SPCA, as well as SPCAs, Humane Societies and animal welfare groups across Canada are encouraging people to choose pet adoption as their first option when bringing home a new family member. Be sure to visit your local participating society to take part in iAdopt for the Holidays and change an animal’s life this holiday season.

PLUS during the campaign period, when you adopt a cat or kitten at an Ontario SPCA Animal Centre, you’ll receive a free box of Arm & Hammer Slide™ Cat Litter while supplies last!

Already have an adopted pet? Enter the iAdopt contest for a chance to WIN free pet food for a year from Royal Canin! Visit iadopt.ca for contest details.

Cat Litter Best Practices

Litter box issues are one of the most common reasons cats find themselves back at Ontario SPCA Animal Centres. Arm & Hammer™, one of our partners for the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign, have some great advice on litter box best practices to help encourage a happy and healthy transition to the new home.

Creating an environment that falls in line with cat’s natural instincts is key. Read our blog post Litter box best practices – Arm & Hammer™ for great tips and set your feline friend up for success.

 Jaxx and Hamish  Phoebe
A Perfect Match

Jaxx, a young Husky/Shepherd cross who came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre, was looking for his forever home. We’ve seen instant chemistry before, but when Jaxx met Eileen, one of our volunteer dog walkers, it was truly a perfect match.

Eileen had already adopted two cats and a dog from our Centre within the past couple years, and was looking for a canine companion for her dog Hamish. The two dogs instantly hit it off and have since been inseparable. Jaxx has found his forever family and we couldn’t be happier.

Find your match today and adopt during iAdopt for the Holidays.
Senior Gal Looking for Love

Phoebe came to the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre back in September and is longing to find her forever home. Like many seniors up for adoption, she often gets overlooked because of her age. She may be 12 years old, but this lovely lady is quite outgoing and very affectionate.

Based on the history we known, Phoebe would prefer a quiet home. Here at the Centre, she shares her living space with another cat, and we know that she had also lived with a dog in the past.

If you are looking for a sweet friend like Phoebe, stop by today to take her home!

Volunteer Committed to Helping Cats

The Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre would like to shine the spotlight on Melissa, one of our volunteers who dedicates her time to help cats in our care. Melissa has been volunteering with us since August, coming in every Sunday for morning cat care. She quickly realized how much she loved cats and decided to come back in the afternoons as well for cat enrichment.

Melissa’s commitment is greatly appreciated. Rain or shine, she is here every Sunday to help the many cats in our care get ready for their forever homes. Thank you, Melissa for your unwavering dedication to our furry friends.

Looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity? We have many rewarding positions. Visit our website to see how you might be able to help.

Make a Will Month

November is Make a Will month, so we're talking about legacies, animals and Wills!

On this week's Animals' Voice Pawdcast, we interview Nancy Hull, lifelong supporter of animals and the Ontario SPCA. She shares with us why she thinks it's important for animal lovers to make a Will, and why she chose to include the Ontario SPCA in her Will.

Visit our website for sample terminology when creating your Will and learn more on how you can Leave a Legacy.
