Pet Photos with Santa – Ho Ho Ho!

On Sunday, Nov. 19 we held our Pet Photos with Santa event here at the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre. A total of 41 dogs, three cats and two guinea pigs all came to have their photos taken.

In addition, we had a wonderful holiday bake sale and some great animal themed vendor market tables. A great time was had by all and over $1200 was raised for the animals in our care.

Thanks to our fantastic community and all of the support that was provided!
Thanksgiving drive helps the animals

A big thank you to PBL Insurance Limited for organizing their October Thanksgiving drive in support of the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre. Spearheaded by Diana Bereas and with the support of colleagues in PBL’s Toronto Office, a giving program was put in place to support people & pets.

Staff donated food for humans and/or cash for animals, resulting in a $500 donation to the Animal Centre. This will help with much needed medicines, surgeries and day to day care of the animals. A special thanks to our partners at PBL Insurance for taking the time to support animal welfare – you truly make a difference!

National Cupcake Day™ Student Ambassador Program

National Cupcake Day™ in support of local SPCAs, Humane Societies, and animal welfare groups across Canada is taking place on Feb. 26, 2018. We are now recruiting student ambassadors to lead their school, grade or colleagues in a bake sale fundraiser (can be cupcakes, healthy snacks or whatever you choose) on any day in January or February.

This is a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours, leadership, teamwork, project management and fundraising skills. All funds raised go toward local animal welfare initiatives (surgeries, medicines, daily care). Afterwards, contact the Provincial Education & Animal Centre to arrange to drop off your donations and receive a behind the scenes tour and animal experience!
