Northern dogs ready to find new homes
Another group of Northern dogs has been successfully transferred to find loving homes and they’re now starting to become available for adoption at various locations across the province.
On April 27, a group of 21 dogs touched down in Thunder Bay on a journey to Central Ontario. The dogs were flown into Thunder Bay by North Star Air Ltd. where they were cared for by volunteers before embarking on the next phase of their journey.

ASPCA releases top 10 toxins of 2017
Every year, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) compiles data based on cases of potential poisonings. The list is a great benchmark identifying hazardous trends that could be fatal to our furry companions.
For the second year in a row, human prescription medications topped the list, barely surpassing over- the- counter medication and supplements.

Cutting skills needed!
Are you handy with tools and know how to cut steel? Your skills can help animals at the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre. We are looking for individuals to assist us in creating portals in our cat rooms and create a larger living space to help reduce the stress of the cats in our care.

Tiny the Mastiff has been adopted
Tiny the Mastiff came into the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre (PEAC) as a stray back in February. This big boy was looking for a little love and he definitely got that from the staff and volunteers. His friendly personality and great energy won everyone over but he needed a little work with his manners.
The PEAC team worked with Tiny on some basic leash training to help him get ready for adoption, and within no time, he met his forever family! He now lives happily as a part of a family with other dogs, and has settled in quite nicely. Good luck Tiny! You will certainly be missed. |
