Don Cherry No Hot Pets

Don Cherry wants you to know there's never an excuse for leaving a pet unattended in a vehicle. If you find a pet unattended in a hot vehicle, call 310-SPCA (7722) in Ontario or your local police department.

Businesses pledge support for No Hot Pets

Last year, the Ontario SPCA launched its pet friendly business directory in support of the No Hot Pets campaign. The directory was a huge success with hundreds of businesses across the province taking the pledge and helping spread the awareness of the dangers of leaving pets unattended in vehicles.

The 2018 Pet Friendly Business Directory is now available!

Businesses who sign up to show their commitment to keeping pets cool this summer will receive a printable sign to display in their store window, letting pet owners know they can bring their animals inside while they shop or do business.

Moving your pet to a new home

From selecting your new home to unpacking that final box, the ASPCA has some fantastic tips on how to make the move a smooth one while minimizing the amount of stress on your pets.

Road trip with your pet?

Summer is a great time to get in your car and embark on an adventure! If you plan to bring pets with you though, it’s important to keep a few important safety tips in mind.

Road trips are generally the easiest and most relaxing way to travel with your pet. Train your pet to travel in a car by taking them on lots of short car trips to places they love. For your pet’s safety and your own, confine them to the back seat, either in a carrier or pet seatbelt (a special harness that attaches to the car’s seatbelt).

Keep your pet comfortable throughout the trip. Read the blog Road trip with your pet for tips to prepare for a great adventure with your pet. Make sure you have a plan in place so your pets are never left unattended in your vehicle.

Marley and Princess
Donation Box
Paying it forward helps duo find a home together

These two do everything together! Marley and Princess were a bonded pair of dogs that came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Animal Centre, waiting over a month for someone to fall in love with both of them.

Then one day, a generous donor sponsored their adoption fee so they could stay together. This kind act was exactly what they needed! A week later, Marley and Princess met their match and these two sweet dogs were adopted together!

A great big thank you to our generous donor for paying it forward and helping this duo stay friends as they embark on their new adventure.
LCBO chooses Ontario SPCA as charity of choice

Now through July 21st, you can support animals by depositing your spare change at any of the 660+ LCBO stores throughout Ontario. Donation boxes for the Ontario SPCA will be displayed at LCBO checkout counters across the province!

Funds raised from the LCBO Provincial Donation Box Program will support our programs and services, including sheltering and adoptions, humane education, reducing pet overpopulation, emergency rescue and treatment, reuniting lost pets with their owners, spay/neuter services and Rescue & Relief™ services.

By making a donation, you’re supporting our furry friends, big and small, who have been abused, abandoned, or are in need of help. THANK YOU!

Black Jack
Auction Items Needed
Blackjack gets dealt a winning hand

Last month, the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Animal Centre reached out to the community about a three-year-old cat named Blackjack. Poor Blackjack was caught in a trap used by hunters and needed surgery to amputate two of his toes. He was lucky to have been found by hikers and brought to our Animal Centre for care.

Thanks to your support, Blackjack is on the road to recovery and has now found a wonderful family to live out his years. Thank you to everyone who donated to his care and helped spread the word. You helped Blackjack get a second chance at happiness!
