Jax is on the mend
Do you remember Jax, the sweet dog who was suffering from severe luxating patellas, a congenital condition affecting both of his hind legs? Jax could no longer walk and was in terrible pain. But thanks to the wonderful staff at Allandale Veterinary Hospital, and the generous donors who supported his care, Jax received two critical surgeries and is well on his way to recovery.
Jax is currently being fostered by Red Barn Event Centre in Barrie, which has been helping him with his rehabilitation and teaching him how to be a very good boy! Check out this video showcasing his journey. Jax got a second chance at life thanks to the support from our community! Please consider making a gift to help animals like Jax find the happiness they deserve.

Northern dogs in need of new homes arrive at Ontario SPCA Animal Centres
A group of dogs from two remote fly-in communities in Northern Ontario headed south to find new homes through the Ontario SPCA’s Year of the Northern Dog program.
A total of 12 dogs recently arrived at Ontario SPCA Animal Centres in Muskoka, Orillia, and Barrie thanks to North Star Air Ltd.
After arriving by plane in Kapuskasing, the dogs were loaded onto Northern Legacy Farm’s “Bark Bus” and hit the highway in anticipation of finding new homes.
Follow the Year of the Northern Dog Facebook Page to stay updated on animal welfare efforts in the North and for adoption updates and availability.
