Kittens need TLC to return them to health
Micro and Macro came to the Ontario SPCA Sudbury & District Animal Centre in need of immediate medical help. Both kittens had an upper respiratory infection. Unfortunately, Macro’s condition was much worse. This poor little sweetheart had a severe eye injury from an untreated infection.
The kittens received immediate veterinary care and our team created individual care plans to return them to health and prepare them for adoption. Unfortunately, Macro's eye is damaged beyond repair. To help ensure he lives a life without pain, he will need to have his eye removed.
To help cover the costs of his care and ensure we are ready to help more animals like Macro who arrive at our doorstep in need of urgent care, please make a gift today.

Senior dog finds a home for his golden years
Gus the senior Jack Russell Terrier sadly lost his lifelong human and was brought to us to ensure he found a perfect retirement home. Luckily for Gus, after visiting the local radio station and being featured on CTV for a Take me Home Tuesday segment, the perfect family found him. They brought him home to live with their other senior Jack Russell, who had just recently lost her canine companion of many years.
Gus is doing well in his new home with his new fur sibling and parents. He enjoys ball tossing every evening and three walks a day! Thank you so much to our wonderful adopters who choose to give older dogs a new lease on life!
There are so many great reasons to consider a senior animal! Read our blog to learn more about why senior animals are so amazing.

How to keep small animals mentally stimulated
Mental stimulation is important for the behavioural enrichment of small animals. But how do you keep them entertained?
The quickest and easiest thing you can do to change up their environment is to rearrange items in your friend’s living environment. Moving items to the opposite corner makes them think about its change of location; they may even try to move it around to place it where they want it. Introducing different “furniture pieces” such as branches and bedding can create a different environment. Introduce only one item at a time to prevent fear and stress.
