Jersey's Story
With the help of our ‘iAdopt for Spring’ promotion which ran from April 1 - May 31, we are happy to report that many of the cats at the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Branch were quickly adopted.
Our new "Cat Suites" now set up at the branch, allow the cats in our care the ability to roam and move throughout their indoor & outdoor space. The suites also allow future adopters to interact with the cats by spending time in the suites, socializing and bonding with them.
A beautiful cat named "Jersey" connected with her future adopter this way. The adopter really felt that Jersey was bonding with her in the suite. In the end, she knew Jersey had picked her as her new family.
Please visit our webiste for a full list of all the amazing animals avaliable for adoption.

Volunteer Spotlight
Like many of our volunteers, Faith Wilson is a key part of our team. Faith starting volunteering with the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Branch five years ago. She is our “cat whisperer”.
Faith is a loyal and dedicated volunteer who comes in regularly every week. Faith helps out in our cat rooms, paying special attention to the behavior and moods of the cats, and spending quality time with them when they need it. She also performs the Meet Your Match® Feline-ality™ for our cats moving up to our Adoption Rooms.
In her spare time, Faith lends a hand with our fundraising events and she also contributes handmade quilted items for our auction events.

Lavnder Needs Your Support!
"Lavender" came into the Ontario SPCA Leeds & Grenville Branch in early April as a stray. She was very underweight and from the looks of her body condition it seemed as though she may have given birth to puppies recently.
Lavender is in need of entropian surgery, what is commonly referred to as “cherry eye”, in both eyes. The condition known as entropion, is an abnormal in-rolling of the eyelid that causes the eyelashes to scrape the surface of the eyeball. This condition can be very painful and can cause other problems, such as corneal ulcers or erosion.
The cost for a surgery of this kind, and for the aftercare required, is well over $1000. This is why we need your support.

No Hot Pets!
The award-winning No Hot Pets campaign is back!
The Ontario SPCA receives hundreds of reports of pets being left in cars every year.
The Ontario SPCA and Cadillac Fairview are working together with participating shelters across Canada to share the dangers of leaving pets unattended in hot vehicles.
We are asking for your help in sharing this message too. When you take the pledge NOT to leave your pet in your vehicle, you will receive a free No Hot Pets decal in the mail. Take the pledge now!
Check out our collaborative PSA with York Region Police and Toronto Police Services. See more by clicking here.
If you see a pet in a hot vehicle, report it! Reporting is as easy as dialing 310-SPCA.
Lets have no hot pets this summer!
