Ramona the Brave

"Ramona", (now "Piper"), one of the Golden Doodles that came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Branch in 2014, dropped by for a visit the other day after being adopted recently.

Her new owner says she is slowly becoming less shy and loves meeting other dogs at the dog park. We are glad these two ladies found each other!

We love seeing these happy endings.

Please visit our webiste for a full list of all the amazing animals avaliable for adoption.

 Anna

Volunteer Spotlight

Anna Lee Callum has been a vital volunteer for the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Branch.

Anna has taken on the volunteer coordination for the branch. Not only does she continue to volunteer her time at fundraisers to help raise money in our community, but she also took on the task of getting our Volunteer Database up and running. Now new volunteers can apply and sign themselves up for volunteer opportunities online.

Thank you, Anna Lee; you’re the best! We are very grateful for your time and commitment.

For more information on how to become a volunteer please visit our website.

Puuuurfect!

Long-time guardian angels Frieda Youell and Doris DeCorte have made it possible for our cats at the shelter to play outside, by donating the money needed to purchase new outdoor cat enclosures.

Our new cat enclosure will allow the kitties in our care to enjoy the outdoors by watching the birds, roaming the ramps or laying out on the ledges and hammocks. What fun!

Thank you so much Ladies. The cats are going to love it!

No Hot Pets!

The award-winning No Hot Pets campaign is back!

The Ontario SPCA receives hundreds of reports of pets being left in cars every year.

The Ontario SPCA and Cadillac Fairview are working together with participating shelters across Canada to share the dangers of leaving pets unattended in hot vehicles.

We are asking for your help in sharing this message too. When you take the pledge NOT to leave your pet in your vehicle, you will receive a free No Hot Pets decal in the mail. Take the pledge now!

Check out our collaborative PSA with York Region Police and Toronto Police ServicesSee more by clicking here.

If you see a pet in a hot vehicle, report it! Reporting is as easy as dialing 310-SPCA.

Lets have no hot pets this summer!

Friends For Life! Walk

Tails are wagging all across Ontario as we announce the launch of the 2014 Friends for Life! Walk™ .

The Ontario SPCA Friends for Life! Walk™ is a provincial program of the Ontario SPCA and its Communities, designed to raise funds and awareness for the protection and care of all animals in Ontario.

September 20th and 21st, 2014 is the Friends for
Life! Walk Weekend to Save Pets. Around the province, thousands of walk participants will enjoy a stroll around a park in their community to help raise support for the animals in need across Ontario. Even people without pets can come out to enjoy the day and support this worthwhile cause.

To find a walk near you, and to register, please visit www.friendsforlifewalk.ca.

Help us make this a weekend to save pets!
