Ghost, adopted from Renfrew

Meet Paul

"Paul" was an older cat that initially came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Midland Branch more than three years ago. After spending some time with us, this sweet cat was adopted.

Unfortunately, Paul was returned to us when his owners were moving and couldn't take him with them. We were glad to have his calm and affectionate presence with us once again, but thankfully it wasn’t long before someone else saw the same great qualities in him that we did.

We are happy to say that Paul has been re-adopted and is now happily settling in with his new family.

Please visit our website to see all the wonderful animals for adoption.

Volunteer Spotlight

Mike has been with the Ontario SPCA Midland & District Branch since we opened six years ago.

Mike is very dedicated to the shelter, arriving before 9am, three times a week to clean our dogs and their enclosures. He is also very handy and helps us with many mechanical tasks that others on our staff are unable to do. Not only does he care for our animals, he helps to maintain the shelter as well!

Thank you, Mike, for all your years of dedication and selflessness. This branch and all its animals are so very grateful to have you as our volunteer.

Visit our Get Involved section on our website for more information on volunteer opportunities.

Paws up Rebecca!

We are fortunate to have a friend in Rebecca, who is a uniquely generous and caring young girl.

Rebecca is 10 years old and has donated all her birthday and Christmas money from the past year to our shelter. She took the time to go shopping, spending $400.00 on treats, toys and food for the animals.

Rebecca warms hearts and has made all of the animals happier because of her contribution.

Thank you, Rebecca, for reminding us how everyone can make a difference with a little (or a lot) of charity.

No Hot Pets!

The award-winning No Hot Pets campaign is back!

The Ontario SPCA receives hundreds of reports of pets being left in cars every year.

The Ontario SPCA and Cadillac Fairview are working together with participating shelters across Canada to share the dangers of leaving pets unattended in hot vehicles.

We are asking for your help in sharing this message too. When you take the pledge NOT to leave your pet in your vehicle, you will receive a free No Hot Pets decal in the mail. Take the pledge now!

Check out our collaborative PSA with York Region Police and Toronto Police ServicesSee more by clicking here.

If you see a pet in a hot vehicle, report it! Reporting is as easy as dialing 310-SPCA.

Lets have no hot pets this summer!

Friends For Life! Walk

Tails are wagging all across Ontario as we announce the launch of the 2014 Friends for Life! Walk™ .

The Ontario SPCA Friends for Life! Walk™ is a provincial program of the Ontario SPCA and its Communities, designed to raise funds and awareness for the protection and care of all animals in Ontario.

September 20th and 21st, 2014 is the Friends for
Life! Walk Weekend to Save Pets. Around the province, thousands of walk participants will enjoy a stroll around a park in their community to help raise support for the animals in need across Ontario. Even people without pets can come out to enjoy the day and support this worthwhile cause.

To find a walk near you, and to register, please visit www.friendsforlifewalk.ca.

Help us make this a weekend to save pets!
