Meet Tundra

“Tundra” came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Branch when her previous owners were no longer able to care for her.

As a senior dog, Tundra had some medical issues that were treated at the time of her arrival, and she proved to be a cheerful, energetic girl. The staff and volunteers at the branch were determined to give her the second chance she deserved.

We made her available for adoption and received this lovely collage of photos that one of our amazing volunteers created to help us market Tundra. We put the collage on Facebook and her smiling face soon attracted lots of interest.

Tundra has now been adopted and we wish her the best with her new family out on Prince Edward Island!

Amazing Volunteers

The Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Branch has wonderful volunteers that help with our various Tag Days throughout the spring, summer and fall no matter the weather conditions.

By standing outside local business locations in their very identifiable volunteer shirts and ID badges, they draw much needed awareness and attention to the animals that need our help.

We are very grateful for their time and commitment. We could never run these fundraisers without them.

If you are interested in learning more about volunteering, please visit our website for more information.

Thank You Walmart!

On Friday, May 23rd, the staff at the Walmart Store in Orangeville celebrated their grand re-opening as a Walmart Supercentre.

As part of the celebration, representatives from four local charities were invited to attend and receive a donation from the store and its staff.

The Ontario SPCA Orangeville &  District Branch was lucky enough to be included.

Branch Manager Carol Hulcoop attended the event and was delighted to receive a cheque for $1,000 towards the care of the animals at the branch.

Many thanks to Walmart Supercentre Orangeville for your support of the animals in our care!

iAdopt Urgent Appeal a Great Success

Ontario SPCA branches across the province recently experienced a high influx of adult cats in their care so we created an iAdopt Urgent Appeal campaign, asking people to consider adopting an adult cat from their local branch.

From June 20 - July 6, 2014, adult cat adoption fees were reduced to only $50.

We are happy to report that in just over two weeks, 224 adult cats were adopted from our branches, and are now enjoying thier forever homes. Thank you to all those who took part!

Don't Forget Your Pet

The Ontario SPCA and participating shelters across Canada are working together to share the dangers of leaving pets unattended in hot vehicles.

We are asking for your help in sharing this message too. Take the pledge now!

Check out our collaborative PSA with York Region Police and Toronto Police Services.

If you see a pet in a hot vehicle, report it! Reporting is as easy as dialing 310-SPCA.

Lets have no hot pets this summer!
