Another Happy Ending

An older, very overweight lab named “Nissan”, was brought to the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Branch a few months ago because his owners were no longer be able to care for him.

Nissan was quickly adopted, but unfortunately brought back because the other dog in the house did not adjust well.

He was at the shelter again for a couple of weeks until a family with their own older dog came in wanting to adopt another older dog as a companion. They chose Nissan!

Nissan and his new brother “Arnie” took a shining to each other right away. Nissan is settling in well and loving all the attention he is getting. He is also making lots of new friends with some dog cousins of all sizes!

Kids Camp a Success

During the week of July 28th to August 1st, the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Branch held our first Kids’ Camp of the summer, for kids aged 8-10.

We had a full house this year, and the kids got to go on some very fun field trips, including a visit to a dairy farm and a tour of a veterinary clinic.

Other activities included walking the shelter dogs and puppies and playing with the cats and kittens!

We want to thank our volunteers who donated their time to give these kids a great week!

"Champ" Needs Your Help

The Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Branch is currently seeking donations for a good cause!

A young kitten named "Champ", about two months old, was dropped off at the shelter dragging his front leg. We rushed him to the veterinarian for x-rays: it was determined he had a full break to his humerus bone.

We were able to amputate the leg, but now we are looking for donations to cover the cost of this expensive surgery.

He is a very sweet kitten, and he is currently recovering in foster care.

Every little bit helps, so please donate and help this little furball find his forever home!

Volunteers can now manage their own schedule!

Ontario SPCA volunteers can now update their contact information and manage their own schedule all from home.

The Ontario SPCA has launched a new online software system called "Better Impact"; this system is especially designed to manage volunteers and provide a more efficient way of communicating.
As a volunteer you can sign up for shifts, inform us of any vacations, log hours, or change your phone number all from your home.

Volunteers just need an email address and access to the internet to get started.

For more information see you branch for details or log into www.myvolunteer.page.com to create your web page.
