Another Happy Ending    Marianne and Christian adopted a cat in March of this year from the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Branch and are absolutely in love! With morning kisses, crazy playtime, and nighttime cuddles, “Ash” is the perfect cat for them! Marianne says, “We are absolutely crazy for him! And I want to extend my thanks to the branch for this amazing pet - we are looking forward to adopting a sibling for Ash in the next few months!” We wish all the best to Marianne, Christian and Ash, and we hope to see them (and other great adopters like them) very soon! View adoptable animals here.       Volunteer Spotlight   Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker and it raises needed funds for our shelter! One of our great volunteers, John, is seen here happily sorting bottles like he does weekly as his way of volunteering, along with being a general maintenance handyman and a dog-washing fan favourite! Thanks to volunteers like John, our year-long bottle drive has been a huge success! Please donate your bottles at the shelter at any time! View volunteer opportunities here.     Fresh & Fixed Kennels Our long-awaited kennel renovations at the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Branch took place at the beginning of July! Contractors were onsite for one week working hard at fixing up and rejuvenating our ten kennels that were in need of repair. To finish up the job, our spectacular volunteers graciously spent several hours painting the entire kennel building, and does it ever look fresh and fancy! A big thank you to volunteers Niels, Sarah (pictured) and Andrew for putting on their painting clothes and getting a huge task finished up! They are still picking paint out of their hair, but they said they’d do it again in a heartbeat and even offered to paint some more for us! We’re looking forward to lodging some happy faces in the rejuvenated building.             iAdopt for Fall   Because there’s no better time to fall in love, iAdopt For Fall.   Wouldn’t it be nice to have a furry companion to enjoy the fresh fall weather with?   What better time to welcome a new addition into your family than during the fall months!   From August 1st – September 30th, particpating societies will be running the “iAdopt for Fall” adoption campaign.   Take our online Meet Your Match™ adopter survey so you’ll know before coming in to one of our shelters which type of animal you really click with. The Ontario SPCA has launched a new online software system called "Better Impact"; this system is especially designed to manage volunteers and provide a more efficient way of communicating. As a volunteer you can sign up for shifts, inform us of any vacations, log hours, or change your phone number all from your home. Volunteers just need an email address and access to the internet to get started. Walk™ weekend to save pets.
