Wonderful Beagle cross still needs a home

Our staff were recently contacted by a nearby branch about an upcoming transfer of a very adorable, and very pregnant, Beagle cross named “Clover”.

As we prepared for Clover’s arrival, we knew that she would need special care prior to the arrival of her puppies.

Staff here at the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Branch were luckily able to find Clover a foster family that had experience with whelping.

A few weeks later, eight tiny and wonderful little puppies were born. Her puppies were adopted out after weaning, but this sweet tempered and loving girl still needs a home of her own.

If you think you can give Clover a forever home please contact us!

Seeking skilled, pet-friendly administrators

If you enjoy being around a community of animal lovers and have administration skills, you could be a welcomed part of our team!

The Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Branch is currently seeking volunteer administrators with basic computer skills to help assist us at the shelter.

Administrative volunteers are asked to be available for a minimum of one shift a week at our branch in Napanee.

Please contact us at (613) 354-2492 if you are interested in volunteering or email Kristen at kmullin@ospca.on.ca.

We look forward to hearing from you!

New dog kennels arrive!

We were thrilled to receive a very generous donation of some new dog kennels for our shelter.

The new kennels are stainless steel, six-feet tall and have double latches to keep even the most accomplished canine “escape artists” inside!

All of the dogs that come through our shelter will benefit from this new addition.

The staff at our branch are amazed by the generosity of our local community.

Thank you from everyone here at the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Branch for your wonderful contributions!

Fall in Love - iAdopt for Fall

Fall is a great time to welcome a new addition into your family! Because there’s no better time to fall in love, iAdopt For Fall.

There are many animals awaiting their forever homes at Ontario SPCA Communities across the province. Our adoption campaign “iAdopt for Fall” aims to get as many animals as possible placed into their loving forever homes.

For the month of September, the adoption rate for all adult cats is only $99 at all Ontario SPCA branches.

There is still time! iAdopt for Fall ends September 30th.

Take our online Meet Your Match™ adopter survey so you’ll know before coming in to one of our shelters which type of animal you really click with. Take the survey now!

Tips for Student Volunteers

The fall is a great time to volunteer, whether it’s for community hours or for job experience.

The Ontario SPCA receives hundreds of student volunteer applications every year; therefore it’s important that your application stands out.

If you are a high school student looking for a position within the Ontario SPCA, there are things you can do!

The most important tip is to complete every section of the online application form.

Apply early! If you need hours for the coming year, don’t wait until the end of the first semester to apply.

Positions are limited and the volunteer recruitment process can take a month or more to complete.

Volunteer positions can pop up at anytime, so check the website regularly so you don’t miss out!

Friends For Life! Walk is THIS weekend!

Tails are wagging for the Ontario SPCA Friends for Life!Walk™ .

We’re now in our final stretch with only a week left to go!

This weekend, thousands of walk participants across the province, will enjoy a stroll with their families around the park in their community to help raise support for animals in need across Ontario.

We encourage everyone to come out and walk with us! Even if you don’t have a pet, come out to enjoy the day and support this worthwhile cause.

Everyone who registered is working hard to raise pledges and we appreciate your support! If you’re unable to walk, you can always support a walker. Click here to find a person or team to sponsor.

If you haven’t registered, you still can! Just go to friendsforlifewalk.ca.

We’ll see you at the walk!
