The Ontario SPCA is gearing up for the holidays with some great programs in support of the animals. After a successful campaign last year, iAdopt for the Holidays launched nation wide November 1st, 2014. Rescue groups, SPCAs and Humane Societies are coming together to promote responsible pet adoption over the holidays.
As part of the iAdopt for the Holidays Campaign, Ontario SPCA Branches are offering a reduced adoption fee of $99 for all cats and kittens. View adoptable cats.
And what gift-giving season would be complete without the return of Paws & Give™, the Ontario SPCA's symbolic gift catalogue.

“Harley” Finds a Home
An adorable American Bulldog named “Harley” came into the Ontario SPCA Kent County Branch this past July, and we were eager to see her go to a good home.
Surprisingly, Harley had quite the wait. Her boundless enthusiasm needed a particularly special family to keep up her. Just in time for Thanksgiving, the right visitors walked through our doors and were looking for a companion just like Harley!
We are thrilled for Harley and her new forever family.

Three Cheers for Stephanie
This month, we would like to spotlight Ontario SPCA Kent County Branch volunteer Stephanie.
Stephanie began volunteering by cleaning kennels at the local PetSmart store. She had a particular interest in working with the cats, and wanted to help the cats who were Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) positive. “Theodore” and “Atkins” were two cats diagnosed with FIV, so Stephanie and her family adopted both of them within weeks of each other.
The staff at the Ontario SPCA Kent County Branch are grateful for the support of volunteers like Stephanie, who go above and beyond to help the animals of Chatham-Kent.

Our Shelter Gets a New Look
Thanks to a recent grant, the Ontario SPCA Kent County Branch building is receiving some interior painting to freshen up public spaces. This much-needed painting is the result of Valerie Knight’s application to the RBC Employee Volunteer Grant Program on behalf of our shelter. The Ontario SPCA Kent County Branch was given the maximum donation of $500, which is being used to repaint and showcase our amazing Meet Your Match® Program. iAdopt for the Holidays
Everyone wants to be with family over the holidays, pets included. This year, take part in the National "iAdopt for the Holidays" Adoption Campaign from November 1st until December 31st, 2014 and let a loving animal into your life. Visit one of the participating shelters, find your true love, and share your adoption story with others.
Together, we can change the lives of orphaned pets, raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption, and get as many animals into new homes over the holidays as possible.

Giving Tuesday - Give the Gift of Time
On Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014, Giving Tuesday will be celebrated all across Canada, and internationally around the world. Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it is a day to give back, in whatever way you choose, but it is also an opportunity to teach the importance of philanthropy to our younger generations. The Ontario SPCA could not continue its life saving work without the help of our wonderful volunteers.
