The Ontario SPCA is gearing up for the holidays with some great programs in support of the animals. After a successful campaign last year, iAdopt for the Holidays launched nation wide November 1st, 2014. Rescue groups, SPCAs and Humane Societies are coming together to promote responsible pet adoption over the holidays.
As part of the iAdopt for the Holidays Campaign, Ontario SPCA Branches are offering a reduced adoption fee of $99 for all cats and kittens. View adoptable cats.

Black Cat Campaign Helps Betty
We always hope that when animals come through our doors, they can be put up for adoption and placed in a loving home quickly to minimize their shelter stay. Month after month, a small, shy black cat named “Betty” waited for a home.
When Betty started exhibiting signs of stress from being in the shelter for so long, things looked bleak.
During October’s Black Cat Campaign to encourage black cat adoptions, Betty was matched with Susanna, a visitor at the Ontario SPCA Huron County Branch.
The quiet little cat was adopted by Susanna, and she reports Betty has settled in purr-fectly!

Recent Retiree Finds New Purpose
The Ontario SPCA Huron County Branch is happy to welcome Bob Marshall to our volunteer team.
After recently retiring, Bob decided he wanted to spend some of his time helping the animals at our shelter. He has been involved with animal transfers since March 2014, making sure the animals are safely and comfortably moved between shelters as required. We are so grateful for Bob’s countless hours on the road and his commitment to helping our shelter. Thank you Bob for your reliability, dedication, and support. View all volunteer opportunities.

Handmade Catnip Pillows from Flora
If the cats in our shelter could talk, they would tell you one of their favourite visitors is Flora, who has been bringing them handmade catnip pillows from the catnip she grows at home for six years.
To date, Flora has made over 1,000 catnip pillows that are also used to raise money at our fundraisers, and are offered for sale at the Ontario SPCA Huron County Branch.

iAdopt for the Holidays
Everyone wants to be with family over the holidays, pets included. This year, take part in the National "iAdopt for the Holidays" Adoption Campaign from November 1st until December 31st, 2014 and let a loving animal into your life. Visit one of the participating shelters, find your true love, and share your adoption story with others.
Together, we can change the lives of orphaned pets, raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption, and get as many animals into new homes over the holidays as possible.

Giving Tuesday - Give the Gift of Time
On Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014, Giving Tuesday will be celebrated all across Canada, and internationally around the world. Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it is a day to give back, in whatever way you choose, but it is also an opportunity to teach the importance of philanthropy to our younger generations. The Ontario SPCA could not continue its life saving work without the help of our wonderful volunteers.
