 Katie and Jet

A Great Addition to the Family

“We adopted "Jet" from the Ontario SPCA Orillia Branch in April 2014, and fell in love with him as soon as we saw him. His tail was wagging and he looked so happy. We knew he would make a great addition to our family.

A few days later we adopted Jet and have loved every moment since! Jet is full of life and energy. He loves to run, play with other dogs and snuggle up on the couch. We couldn't imagine our lives without Jet.

Because all animals deserve a happy and loving home, I Adopt." – Katie L.

 Winter Warmth Open House

Winter Warmth for Outdoor Cats Event a Huge Success

Volunteers from the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre (PEAC) joined forces with the local community to build feral cat shelters for the outdoor cats in the Greater Toronto Area.

The event took place during our open house on Saturday, November 29th at PEAC. A total of 34 volunteers took part in building the shelters for the feral caretakers to distribute. We are thrilled to report that we were able to build 47 feral cat shelters, 11 of which were in use the next night!

In addition, we are also happy to announce that five cats were adopted during this event. We want to thank everyone who attended and all of our supporters who donated to our feral cat food bank.

Stay tuned for our next home building event in January, 2015.

Adopted Dog Becomes YouTube Sensation

When Mike Filsinger posted a video on YouTube of his goddaughter Raven’s dog Bella, he had no idea it would become an internet sensation.

Their video “Dog Plays Waltz on Piano”, featuring Bella wearing a suit and Mike’s hands playing piano through the sleeves, has garnered over 72,000 views and lead to their appearance on Fox’s Cause for Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular

You Help Save Lives

The Ontario SPCA depends almost entirely on the generosity of people like you - your compassion enables us to provide urgently needed care and shelter for the thousands of innocent animals that suffer from injury, abuse or neglect each year in this province.

Every success we achieve – every life we save – is only possible with the ongoing generosity of our supporters and donors.

On behalf of all of us at the Ontario SPCA, including all our frontline staff across the province who work so hard to save lives, thank you!
