A Special Adoption Day Celebration
Susan and Andrew are no strangers to adoption. After the passing of “Buddy”, their adopted Border Collie, the couple decided to visit the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Branch to meet another Border Collie. However, it was a sweet six-month-old husky mix named “Oliver” that stole their hearts. He was shy and hesitant at first, however with some time and care, Oliver had become quite the socialized and behaved goofball.
In the summer, Susan and Andrew decided to add another dog to their family. After months of checking the adoptable pets on the website, they found another husky mix puppy named “Sasha”. They met this sweet girl right away and fell in love yet again. They brought Oliver in to meet Sasha and they bonded right away.
Coincidentally, Oliver and Sasha were both adopted on November 15, one year apart. They now celebrate November 15th as their special adoption day celebration.

All in a Day's Work
Dedicated is only one of the many words we can use to describe Laura, an outstanding volunteer at the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Branch. Laura joined our volunteer program early this year and comes in faithfully each week to walk the dogs at the shelter. Rain, snow or sunshine, she is always cheerful and ready to take the dogs outside for some fun and exercise. Laura has also been helping us out with a recent challenge we have been facing at our Paws & Claws Thrift Store in Orangeville. Over the past few weeks, road construction has restricted vehicle access to the back of our store, creating issues for regular waste disposal. Thankfully, Laura and her husband Richard have graciously offered their time and their truck to help load the garbage and bring it to the dumpster at the shelter.
Hats off to Laura for helping us with this dirty task until a long term solution can be implemented. We are so grateful to Laura for all of her help and hard work. If it weren’t for her we honestly don’t know what we could have done.

Citrus City Tattoo Gives Back
On November 2nd, 2014, Keith and Sara Winterbottom of Citrus City Tattoo hosted their annual art show and auction, Dead Things 4. Artists created original works of art for the show and auction with all proceeds donated to the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Branch.
This year’s event had a great turnout with over 50 pieces entered, one entry even coming all the way from Malaysia. Many of the artists’ works are very detailed, all are original and a tattoo equipment company even sponsored a best in show competition.
Guests had a great time viewing the works of art and outbidding each other for the opportunity to take home their favorite piece. In total, $7,400 was raised to benefit the animals in the care of the Ontario SPCA Orangeville & District Branch.
Thank you Keith and Sara for your ongoing support.
