Keep Your Dog Active This Winter
While winter dog walking can sometimes be a challenge, it’s important to meet your dog’s exercise needs all year round. Not only will this keep your dog physically active during the winter months, it’ll also provide much needed mental stimulation for your dog. The cold weather might mean shorter walks, but there are still ways to get that physical activity in. Read the Ontario SPCA’s blog post Tips for a Safe Dog Walk This Winter for useful information.
Dogs love walks no matter what the season brings. Just remember, if it’s too cold for you outside …it’s too cold for your pets.

Sharing the Love This Winter
Ontario SPCA staff would like to thank all of our volunteers for their support over the winter! Cold weather hasn't stopped them.
• Volunteers braved the cold temperatures and provided over 300 dog walks last month to ensure all the animals were getting the exercise they needed.
• Volunteers are also set to build 20 feral cat shelters to provide warmth for homeless cats in various communities.
• Our transportation volunteers even tackled the icy roads to safely transport our animals to various medical appointments. Volunteers are vital to our organization and without your warm hearts we couldn’t care for all those cold noses. If you would like to get involved and join our volunteer team, visit ontariospca.ca and complete our online application form.
