A New Family for “Macho”
“Macho” came to us at the Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Branch back in November and immediately charmed the staff. With his stunning good looks and great disposition, we knew it wouldn’t take long for Macho to find his forever home.
When Toni and Kevin came into the shelter and met Macho, they knew he would be a great fit. Macho, now known as “Miller”, loves the outdoors and playing in the snow. His new parents feel very blessed to have him as part of the family.

A Photo Says is All
The Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Branch would like to send a special thanks to Jason McNamara of Framed Photography for his continued dedication to the animals in our care.
Jason, a self-taught photographer and videographer, has volunteered his time to help raise much needed funds for the shelter. He has done several animal shoots for our calendars, taken the photographs for some of our iAdopt campaign materials, and captured wonderful images of the animals for several other projects as well.
Thank you Jason for all your hard work and helping us feature our wonderful shelter animals. The little guy pictured above is the perfect example of how Jason's work helps the animals find new homes. He was adopted as a result of one of his pictures.

Double the Love
The Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Branch would like to thank two wonderful young ladies for thinking of the animals on their birthday. Alexandra (right) and her twin sister Jade (left) had their fifth birthday party and wanted to help the animals at the shelter by collecting food and toys in lieu of birthday gifts.
We were thrilled when the two girls came in with bags of presents for the animals. Alexandra and Jade also enjoyed visiting the animals and learning about what their donations did to help out our furry friends. Thank you both for the thoughtful donation.

Keep Your Dog Active This Winter
While winter dog walking can sometimes be a challenge, it’s important to meet your dog’s exercise needs all year round. Not only will this keep your dog physically active during the winter months, it’ll also provide much needed mental stimulation for your dog. The cold weather might mean shorter walks, but there are still ways to get that physical activity in. Read the Ontario SPCA’s blog post Tips for a Safe Dog Walk This Winter for useful information.
Dogs love walks no matter what the season brings. Just remember, if it’s too cold for you outside …it’s too cold for your pets.

Sharing the Love This Winter
Ontario SPCA staff would like to thank all of our volunteers for their support over the winter! Cold weather hasn't stopped them.
• Volunteers braved the cold temperatures and provided over 300 dog walks last month to ensure all the animals were getting the exercise they needed.
• Volunteers are also set to build 20 feral cat shelters to provide warmth for homeless cats in various communities.
• Our transportation volunteers even tackled the icy roads to safely transport our animals to various medical appointments. Volunteers are vital to our organization and without your warm hearts we couldn’t care for all those cold noses. If you would like to get involved and join our volunteer team, visit ontariospca.ca and complete our online application form.
