A Home for Little “Sammy”

When a litter came to us from a home where multiple babies were born, it was the smallest one “Sammy” that caught our hearts. It was so rewarding to watch his personality blossom in our care, and see him play and interact with our staff and volunteers.

We were excited when a group of visitors came to tour the Ontario SPCA Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Branch, and fell in love with him! Sammy is now flourishing in his new home.

Angie’s Talents Really Shine

It takes a dedicated team to put together each and every fundraiser that we hold at the Ontario SPCA Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Branch. We are pleased to spotlight Angie Savard as one of our committed volunteers that has helped us with several of our Branch’s special events.

Angie recently participated at Cornwall’s International Women’s Day Show on behalf of our shelter in March. Thank you Angie for your awesome contributions and continued support!

Youth Group Donates $500 to Help the Animals

We were so grateful to receive a donation from the Christ Church Youth Group in Long Sault. They donated $500 for the animals at our shelter, and also came for a visit to meet and greet some of the pets in our care.

The Ontario SPCA Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Branch is always honoured to receive donations of any amount, big or small. Thank you to the wonderful group from Christ Church!

Got a pet Get a Vet

Got a Pet? Get a Vet!™

SPCAs and Humane Societies across Canada encourage pet owners that if you've 'Got a Pet? Get a Vet!™'

It’s important to establish a relationship with a veterinarian when you get a pet. Just one veterinary check-up a year will help protect against a variety of potentially life-threatening diseases, detect health problems sooner, and avoid unexpected costs.
Veterinarians provide many services such as:

•  Early Disease Detection
•  Regular Vaccinations
•  Flea, Tick and Parasite Prevention
•  Prevention of Dental Disease
•  Nutritional Counselling
•  Pet Identification
•  And so much more!

Don’t wait until something goes wrong to take your pet in for a check-up. Schedule a visit with your local veterinarian to ensure a longer, healthier life for your pet(s).

Visit gotapetgetavet.ca for a list of veterinarians in your area.

No Hot Pets

No Hot Pets is Back!

Temperatures have already broken records in some areas of Ontario and calls are coming in to report pets being left in vehicles.

Tuesday, May 19th marks the official launch of the No Hot Pets campaign.

The Ontario SPCA wants to remind pet owners of the dangers of leaving pets unattended in a vehicle during the hot summer months.

Parked cars can quickly reach deadly temperatures, even on relatively mild days with the car parked in the shade and the windows slightly open.

Don’t forget your pet and pledge to NOT leave your pet in a vehicle this summer.

Visit nohotpets.ca and help spread the word about the dangers of leaving pets in vehicles.
