 Lou

Meet “Lou” our Friends for Life! Walk™ Spokes Animal

Baby “Lou” is a three-month-old female Beagle who came to the Ontario SPCA Muskoka Animal Centre in August, 2014. Lou had been found wandering the streets of Parry Sound with a broken elbow on her right foreleg.

Lou was immediately placed on medication to control her pain/ discomfort and her surgery was booked for the following day. She came through with flying colors and returned to our care to complete the recovery process.  She recently adopted her new family (she chose them) and is having the time of her life and so are they!

Support animals like Lou by coming out to the Friends for Life!  Walk™ in Bracebridge on September 20th, 2015 or donate to Lou’s personal fund raising page today!

Visit friendsforlifewalk.ca for more information.

Keep your Pets Cool this Summer

It’s summer time!!!  Bring on the beach days and outdoor fun.

It’s important to stay cool during these hot days ahead. While humans can take necessary precautions to avoid heatstroke, your pets rely on you to keep them cool and safe.

There are a number of things you can do to keep your pet from overheating.  Read our latest blog post Keeping your Pet Cool this Summer for great tips on keeping your pets safe.

And remember to visit nohotpets.ca, take the pledge NOT to leave your pets unattended in hot vehicles and share the message with family and friends.

Newshound is Getting a Make-Over

It’s time to take Newshound to the next level and we need your help!  In order to make the Ontario SPCA newsletter the “must read” of all newsletters, we need your feedback.

Next month, rather than sending our usual edition of Newshound, we will be sending you a short survey to better understand what it is you want to see in the Ontario SPCA newsletter.

So if you have any suggestions, please make note of them and check your inbox mid August with a link to provide us with feedback.  Your input is important to us!

We thank you for your loyal readership and from all the animals at the Ontario SPCA, we wish you a happy and safe summer.
