 Wildberry

Accidently in Love

We recently had an enthusiastic adopter named Cathy visit the Ontario SPCA Huron County Branch. She had been to our shelter several times, and was drawn to a particular cat that really caught her eye. Before she was able to commit to adoption, the cat she was interested in found a new home!

Our staff suggested getting to know “Wildberry” instead. Wildberry was shy with new people, but warmed up to Cathy and before we knew it, they bonded! Wildberry is completely content and enjoying her new home. We wish the best to these new found friends!

There are many sweet animals looking for their forever home. Take the Meet your Match® survey and find your perfect match.

Allan wins Volunteer Appreciation Honour

The Ontario SPCA Branches across the province were asked to submit nominations in appreciation of their volunteers. Two lucky individuals were going to be awared with a great educational experience as a thank you for their continued dedication and support.

We were thrilled when our very own Allan Day was selected as one of the recipients to be awarded such a great educational opportunity.

We want to thank Allan for his contributions to the Ontario SPCA Huron County Branch, and for the hard work of all of our volunteers.

 Shadow D

Meet  “Shadow D” our Friends for Life! Walk™ Spokes Animal

“Shadow D” came to the Ontario SPCA Huron County Branch after being rescued by an Ontario SPCA Agent following an injury that left him with four broken vertebrae. He required a spinal operation and had a rough road ahead.
Recovery was a long process, but through the help of Brennan, a dedicated volunteer, Shadow D began to improve. After spending months together, Brennan decided he simply had to adopt Shadow D and give him a forever home.

Shadow D will now be walking in the Friends for Life! Walk™ in Goderich on September 19th, 2015, to raise money for animals like him in need. Help Shadow D raise money by registering for the walk, or donate to Shadow D’s personal fundraising page.

Newshound is Getting a Make-Over

It’s time to take Newshound to the next level and we need your help!  In order to make the Ontario SPCA newsletter the “must read” of all newsletters, we need your feedback.

Next month, rather than sending our usual edition of Newshound, we will be sending you a short survey to better understand what it is you want to see in the Ontario SPCA newsletter.

So if you have any suggestions, please make note of them and check your inbox mid August with a link to provide us with feedback.  Your input is important to us!

We thank you for your loyal readership and from all the animals at the Ontario SPCA, we wish you a happy and safe summer.
