 Jack aka Norm

Senior “Jack” is a Perfect Fit

Many families who are looking to adopt are attracted to mature pets, as they tend to “know the ropes” and are well past the puppy stage. Senior pets have a lot to offer their new families.

Mary Ann and her daughter came into the Ontario SPCA Barrie Branch looking for a pet just like “Jack”, a senior Pekingese dog that kept us laughing with his stubborn but good-natured personality. They happily adopted Jack, and we were thrilled to get an update that “Norm” (as they now call him) was settling in wonderfully!

There are many sweet animals looking for their forever home. Take the Meet your Match® survey and find your perfect match.

Retired Teacher Volunteers Skills

After retiring from teaching, volunteer Jacqui knew she wanted to help the animals at the Ontario SPCA Barrie Branch.

Jacqui decided to put her teaching skills to good use and participates in special events and educational opportunities for youth to teach them about caring for pets and respecting wildlife.

Jacqui and her Ontario SPCA calendar dog "Jazzy" (featured in the 2014 calendar) never miss a chance to visit the kids.

Thank you for all of your support and dedication Jacqui!

 Opie

Meet  “Opie” our Friends for Life! Walk™ Spokes Animal

“Opie”, a gorgeous Samoyed mix came to the Ontario SPCA Barrie Branch after a concerned citizen found him alone, scared and limping. He was brought in for immediate veterinary care and required immediate surgery.

After a long recovery and regular physiotherapy, Opie is now living in his forever home.  He is so grateful for the love and care he received that he is now walking in the Friends for Life! Walk™ in Barrie on September 20th, 2015 to help raised money for other animals like him.

Help Opie raise money by registering for the walk, or donate to Opie’s personal fund raising page.

Newshound is Getting a Make-Over

It’s time to take Newshound to the next level and we need your help!  In order to make the Ontario SPCA newsletter the “must read” of all newsletters, we need your feedback.

Next month, rather than sending our usual edition of Newshound, we will be sending you a short survey to better understand what it is you want to see in the Ontario SPCA newsletter.

So if you have any suggestions, please make note of them and check your inbox mid August with a link to provide us with feedback.  Your input is important to us!

We thank you for your loyal readership and from all the animals at the Ontario SPCA, we wish you a happy and safe summer.
