A Day on the Road with Animal Control

Volunteer Spotlight - Meet Travis
Travis has been a volunteer with the Ontario SPCA Huron County Branch for about 10 months now. He is a very dedicated and reliable volunteer who comes in on Thursday and Saturday mornings to help with animal care, which consists mainly of cat care since there are no dogs on site. Travis has also a great help with the Annual Spay-ghetti Dinner held last fall in Goderich.

Meet Daisy the Official Friends for Life! walk-a-thon™ Spokesanimal
Daisy, the official Friends for Life! walk-a-thon™ spokesanimal, was found living in a garage with no light, food or clean water. She was removed from her home and brought to the Ontario SPCA where she received the critical care she needed to survive.
May 25th and 26th is the weekend to help save lives.
You can help pets like Daisy by registering for a walk in your community.

Update on Peanut!
Peanut arrived at the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre (PEAC) as a result of an investigation. He had a broken leg after being hit by a car.
Peanut was assessed by a veterinarian and stayed at the shelter for two months while his fracture healed and he gained strength.

Thanking our Volunteers During National Volunteer Week
Did you know that the month of April is dedicated to supporting, encouraging and recognizing the hard work of volunteers across the country?
Although National Volunteer Week is April 21 to 27, 2013, the entire month is earmarked to celebrate the importance volunteers have, especially within non-profit organizations like the Ontario SPCA.

Will Your Pet Be Cared For
Our pets are family! However, as we age, many pet owners have a growing concern over what will happen if we are no longer able to provide care for them.
If you do not have a suitable family member or friend you feel comfortable entrusting your pet to, the Ontario SPCA will be there through the Pet Guardian Program.
