Keep your pets safe during Victoria Day fireworks
Fireworks are terrifying for many pets. They will often run, get lost and end up in animal shelters. If fireworks are part of your Victoria Day plans, leave your pet at home and play music or the television to help disguise the noise. Close windows and blinds or curtains.

Volunteer Spotlight - Meet Dan
Dan Karges has been volunteering with the Ontario SPCA Midland & District Branch for the past six months. Right from the beginning, it was evident that Dan was dedicated to the animals, beginning his volunteer experience walking dogs in the cold winter drudging through the snow and wind.

Hunter Gets a Second Chance!
On Friday March 8,2013, the Ontario SPCA Midland & District Branch received many calls about a husky with a blue leash running at large in the town of Port McNicoll. Several individuals attempted to catch him to keep him from harm's way, but had little success.
Later that day, it was reported that the same dog was found hit by a vehicle near First Avenue and Talbot Street.

Partnership Announced Between Ontario SPCA and Collège Boréal
As part of the official opening of the new veterinary wing of Collège Boréal’ Sudbury campus, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario SPCA, Ms. Kate MacDonald, and the President of Collège Boréal, Mr. Denis Hubert-Dutrisac, announced an innovative partnership that facilitates the sharing of resources and knowledge between these two institutions.

Ontario SPCA Program Helps Feed Feral Cats
It is estimated that over 430,000 homeless cats roam the streets of Toronto alone and feral cat colonies continue to pop up everywhere.
To help alleviate some of the financial burden to feral cat colony caretakers, the Ontario SPCA has launched a new program to provide free dry and canned food out of the Ontario SPCA Newmarket location.
