Katie Finds her Forever Home
The Ontario SPCA Midland Branch was contacted by a family who wanted to surrender a mother dog and her pups.
The family had rescued a small hound found wandering around in the woods. The hound was hungry and dirty, probably a lost hunting dog. Unbeknown to them the dog was pregnant.

Volunteer Spotlight - Meet Nansi
Nansi and her husband Don retired to the Muskoka area in the summer of 2008. They share their home with two Lowchen; Tazz, who came to them as a puppy and Billie, who was adopted when she was seven years old.
It was her love of dogs that prompted Nansi to start volunteering as a dog walker at the Ontario SPCA Muskoka Branch.

Pledge NOT to leave your pet in a hot vehicle!
Each and every year the Ontario SPCA responds to hundreds of reports of pets being left in hot cars. Parked cars can quickly reach deadly temperatures.
No Hot Pets is a campaign encouraging pet owners to take their pet with them when they park their car.

Update on Molly
Molly was adopted from the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre (PEAC). We recently received an update from her new family.
Molly loves to cuddle with her new toy giraffe and her bed. We took her to the pet store and she walked over and picked this as her first toy. She loves it and is always playing with it.
She made a new friend at the park the other day."

2013 Friends for Life! walk-a-thon™ a Huge Success
Once again, the Ontario SPCA’s annual Friends for Life! walk-a-thon™ was a HUGE SUCCESS!
Over 1300 walkers strolled through parks on May 25th and 26th for the weekend to save pets and raised over $330,000 ( and still counting) province wide to provide much needed supplies to help more than 25,000 animals we protect and care for in our shelters each year.
