Ruby the Bull Terrier
Ruby is flourishing in her new home!
Ruby was one of the Bull Terriers that recently came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Branch. While she was at the shelter, staff and volunteers worked diligently with her to help her become more confident. The staff saw the adjustment from breeding dog to companion dog would take some work and made sure to find Ruby the perfect family, willing to put the time and patience needed into helping her. We’re proud to report that Ruby is doing very well in her forever home!

Thank you Tina Ostertag!
As a little girl, Tina enjoyed the company of her family cats. She always loved animals but cats seemed to capture her heart.
Their first family cat, Coatsy was a beautiful Calico with a bit of an attitude. Her love for cats continued throughout her life and now Tina shares her home with a blue eyed adorable cat named Toby.
Once retired as an Acute Care Nurse, Tina joined the Ontario SPCA Orillia Branch team. She found looking after animals made her feel like she was doing something 'helpful and fulfilling' as she started this new era in her life.
Tina also assists at the shelter by participating in fundraising efforts such as tag days, adopt-a-thons and donating to the ‘Great Paws Charity Gala & Auction’.
On behalf of the rabbits, hamsters, dogs and of course her feline friends,
Thank you Tina! For you do to help support animal welfare.

Volunteer Development
2014 is an exciting year for our volunteer program.
Managing over 700 volunteers across the province is no easy feat. In the spring, we will be introducing a new online scheduling system. As a volunteer, you will be able to schedule yourself into shifts, update your personal information and receive up to the minute information from our Branches.
This system will allow us to communicate with you more frequently and efficiently. We will be able to inform you of any shift openings, coming events and training opportunities.
Online training and support will be available to assist you with this new exciting program.
Please stay tuned for more information…
