About the Walk
The Friends for Life! Walk™ is a provincial program of the Ontario SPCA and its Affiliates, designed to raise funds and awareness for the protection and care of all animals in Ontario.
Join us for a walk with your furry four legged friends over the weekend of Saturday September 24th and Sunday September 25th, 2016! Walks are held on either day, so be sure to check with your local participating SPCA or Humane Society for their specific walk details.
Around the province, thousands of walk participants and their families will enjoy a stroll through the park in their community to help raise support for the animals in need across Ontario. Even people without pets come out to enjoy the day and support this worthwhile cause.
This event is your opportunity to help the thousands of animals at the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, who are waiting to find their own friend for life!
Where do my Fundraising Dollars go?
Your fundraising dollars are always hard at work! Donations support a long list of programs and services provided by the SPCA’s and Humane Societies across Ontario:
- Cruelty Investigations
- Sheltering and Adoptions
- Government and Industry
- Advocacy
- Humane Education
- Reducing Pet Overpopulation
- Emergency Rescue and Treatment
- Reuniting Lost Pets with their Owners
- Family Violence Assistance Program (helping care for the pets of women in women's shelters)
- Spay/Neuter Services
- Rescue & Relief Services
Will I receive a Tax Receipt?:
All donations over $10 are eligible to receive a tax receipt. Tax receipts are valid for Canadian residents only. All donor information, including full name and home address, must be provided.
Can I bring my Furry Four Legged Friends?
Dogs are welcome to attend the Friend for Life! Walk™! Please remember, you are responsible for your animal at all times. If your dog does not enjoy the company of other canines or people, please leave him/her at home. Please poop and scoop- don’t bend and pretend!
