We are big supporters of the OSPCA and the SD&G OSPCA shelter. We adopted our tripod kitty Alex there in 2007, after he was found in a leghold trap. Some kind soul turned him in, his rear leg was amputated, and he was adopted out to us six weeks later. We have since adopted MANY animals from the OSPCA cats, ponies, chickens, turkeys, quail, pot-bellied pigs and goats.
Right now we have seventeen cats, four dogs, three ponies named Esme, Finney and Jimmy, a Quarter horse named Roo, a Fjord horse named Sandy, one donkey, oodles of chickens, many Muscovy ducks, a Saxony duck, a Rouen duck, two Runner/Pekin ducks, two Guinea fowl sharing one brain, two Narragansett turkeys, Coturnix quail, thousands of honeybees and twelve incredibly awesome rescue pot-bellied pigs named Ophelia, Olivia, Cordelia, Dahlia, Button, Luther, Jersey, Rudy, Henry, Patrick, Gertrude Swine and Gracie. Not to mention eighteen rescue goats named Genevieve, Daphne, Bambi, Kevin & Geoff, Annabelle, Rosie and Luc, Debbie and Hawkeye, Pierre and Emmeline, Bert, Salty, Pepper, Cindy, Diego and Harry.
The shelter staff and volunteers work hard for the animals and deserve everyone's support! Please sponsor me so I can do my bit to help the OSPCA, so that they will have even more resources to help animals in need.
We also foster cats and kittens for the SD&G OSPCA
I am participating in the Friends for Life! Walk-a-thon in support of the Ontario SPCA.
The money raised will go towards being able to provide care for thousand of animals that may have been abandoned, abused, neglected, or surrendered because their owner is unable or unwilling to care for them any longer.
Please support the Ontario SPCA and give thousands of animals a second chance at a forever home.
